The focus of these on ice sessions is skating. The basics of edge control will be reviewed, along with forward stride, stops, backward skating, turns, and crossovers. Skating is the fundamental hockey skill upon which all other skills are built. It is essential that players have an opportunity to master the basics of skating.
The instruction of these on ice sessions will focus on puck control, passing, and shooting. The basics of each skill will be taught and practiced, in combination with games and appropriate drills. The intention is to have a scrimmage/game to complete each day.
Off Ice Session
The off-ice sessions will focus on being active, learning new training tools to help develop player off the ice and having fun in cooperative games. We want our participants to make friends while at camp; this is one of the top reasons why girls play hockey. This portion of the camp is an opportunity for the players to interact and make memories to last them till next summer.
**Running shoes and active wear are required
Time for a snack will be provided during the off-ice sessions (nut free please). Please pack appropriately.
